Common questions
How do I delete my data?
Open the app, go to Settings → Delete my data and confirm. This removes your profile, meals, post-meal feelings and scan records from our servers and clears your phone. Deleting the app alone doesn’t remove cloud data, so do this first. Already uninstalled? Email us and we’ll do our best to find and remove it.
Where do my meal photos go?
With your permission, a photo is sent to OpenAI through our server so Stummy can estimate texture and portion. Stummy doesn’t store the photo. You can turn this off any time in Settings → AI photo analysis. See the Privacy Policy.
What happens if I turn photo analysis off?
Stummy skips the camera. Every meal gets a standard 20 minute pace and a generic name like “Meal #1”. Timing, bite cues, history and streaks all still work.
How does Stummy choose my pace?
For your first few meals Stummy just times you, without a target, to learn how you actually eat. After that it combines your measured pace with the meal’s texture and size, and gently ramps the target up over the first weeks.
The scan says it’s unavailable or limited.
Meal scans are limited to 10 a day to keep the service fair and prevent abuse. Try again later. You can still time a meal with photo analysis turned off.
The camera isn’t working.
Open iPhone Settings → Stummy and make sure Camera is on. If you’d rather not use the camera, turn off AI photo analysis in Stummy’s settings.
I’m not getting reminders.
Reminders are optional and are turned on in Settings inside Stummy. If you tapped “Not now”, enable notifications for Stummy in iPhone Settings → Notifications. The post-meal walk nudge never shows while the app is open or a meal is running.
The widget or Live Activity isn’t showing.
Long-press the Home Screen, tap + and search for Stummy to add the widget. For Live Activities, check iPhone Settings → Stummy → Live Activities is on, then start a meal. If it still looks stale, open Stummy once to refresh it.
I reinstalled and my history is gone.
Stummy uses an anonymous account stored on your phone, so a fresh install starts a new one and your earlier history can’t be restored. If you want the old cloud data removed, contact us.
Is Stummy medical advice?
No. Stummy supports mindful eating habits. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you have concerns about your eating or health, please talk to a doctor or dietitian.
